How to change from RTF to ASCII


Because of recent improvements in our software and server capabilities, it is no longer a problem for our members to send messages to our lists in RTF.  The following is provided for information purposes only.  You may send your email in any format and our server will automatically reduce it to ASCII without attachments.

When you start to compose a message to post does you screen look like this?

If it does,
STOP !
You're about to send it in RTF !

Read on to see how to change it to Plain Text without losing any of the message.

  • Open the Format Menu item at the top of the screen.
  • Click on Plain Text

That's it !
A dialog will warn you that you are about to remove all formatting from your message.  Click OK and it will be in Plain Text, ready to send to the list.

Notice that the Icons for formatting no longer appear above the body of the text.  This is the dead give-away that you're in ASCII mode instead of RTF.
